Pre-Professional Auditions for 2018-2019

Auditioning students MUST be accompanied during registration by a parent or legal guardian. All registration documents MUST be signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to the audition. No late arrivals will be considered.
There are no fees for auditioning or for tuition.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES:
-Students must have at least two years of prior dance training, and be no younger than 8 and no older than 18 years of age by September 1, 2018.
-Intermediate and Advanced ladies ages 11 and up are asked to bring pointe shoes. Students must be 11 years of age by September 1, 2018 to be considered for placement in program(s) that include pointe classes.
-Students must arrive in proper dress to audition:
Females - black leotard, pink tights (convertible to bare feet for modern), and pink ballet shoes, with hair pulled back in a neat bun. No jewelry or warm ups.
Males - black athletic pants and athletic undergarments, white t-shirt, and black ballet shoes.
-Students must have completed registration by the audition start time – no late arrivals will be considered.
-Auditioning students MUST be accompanied during registration by a parent or legal guardian. All registration documents MUST be signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to the audition.
-The audition will consist of a ballet barre and center work in ballet and modern technique, along with a brief pointe section if applicable.
-Accepted students are placed in the appropriate class section based on age, audition performance, and current technical ability.
NOTES FOR CURRENT STUDENTS:
1) Students enrolled in previous sessions are not automatically re-invited each Academic Year and or summer to NOBA Pre-Professional or Bridge Programs, and may be required to re-audition. Students may receive official invitations to return for the Academic Year and or summer ONLY at the discretion of and from NOBA Education Coordinators.
2) Students that withdraw from their respective program(s) in the middle of the Academic Year or at any time may be required to wait a full year from the time of withdrawal to re-audition on a case by case basis.
3) Students that do not attend classes with NOBA during summer sessions are required to attend available audition or evaluation sessions in August prior to the Academic Year, and will then be issued a recommendation or invitation by NOBA Education Coordinators to the appropriate NOBA program(s).
