2017 SUMMER INTENSIVES
By audition/invitation only - all auditions have passed.

The headlining July Daytime Intensive (July 12 - August 1), open by audition to ages 12-18, will feature artists from Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, including Artistic Directors Ronald K. Brown and Dwight Rhoden! Other summer faculty will feature Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, KEIGWIN + COMPANY, Parsons Dance, Youngsil Kim and Kelly Marsh IV of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, guest instructors Chanel DaSilva and Maleek Washington, and more!

NOBA will also be recruiting for the 2017-2018 Pre-Professional Program during the Summer Intensive Programs!

2017 Summer Intensive Programs

CHEVRON SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAMS: Ages 7-12; by audition or invitation only
SESSION 1
May 23 – June 1, Tuesday & Wednesday (Ballet), Thursday (Modern); 6:00-7:15pm
LOCATION: The Chevron Studio, Lyons Rec Center (624 Louisiana Ave.)
•Mandatory for newly placed Bridge Program students; optional for students currently enrolled in 2016-17 Bridge Program
SESSION 2
June 5 – 30, Monday & Wednesday (Ballet), Friday (Modern); 6:00-7:15pm
LOCATION: Stallings St. Claude Rec Center (4300 St. Claude Ave.)
•Open Studio at Stallings St. Claude Rec Center on Friday, June 30, 6:30pm
•Mandatory for all students placed in Summer Bridge Programs


JUNE TEEN EVENING INTENSIVE: Ages 11-18; by audition or invitation only
June 5 – 30, Monday & Wednesday (Ballet), Friday (Modern); 7:15-8:45pm
LOCATION: Stallings St. Claude Rec Center (4300 St. Claude Ave.)

JUNE CHEVRON MASTER ARTIST SERIES EVENING WORKSHOPS: Ages 8-18, by audition or invitation
Three individual Monday-Thursday sessions featuring Chevron Master Artist local and visiting faculty.
LOCATION: The Chevron Studio, Lyons Rec Center (624 Louisiana Ave.)
June 5 – 8: Evening Workshop #1 featuring local faculty plus Craig Black from Aspen Santa Fe Ballet
June 12 – 15: Evening Workshop #2 featuring local faculty plus Founder and Artistic Director Larry Keigwin of KEIGWIN + COMPANY
June 19 – 22: Evening Workshop #3 featuring local faculty plus Elizabeth Koeppen representing Parsons Dance
June 26 – 29: Evening Workshop #4 with Chanel DaSilva & Maleek Washington
•Each evening workshop is Monday-Thursday, 5:30-8:00pm

JULY DAYTIME INTENSIVE: Ages 12-18, by audition or invitation only
July 12 – August 1 Featuring Artistic Directors Ronald K. Brown (of Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE) and Dwight Rhoden (of Complexions Contemporary Ballet; Arcell Cabuag of EVIDENCE, and dancers Youngsil Kim and Kelly Marsh IV of Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
LOCATION: Eleanora P. McWilliams Hall, 3rd Floor Dance Studios, Tulane University; with exception of performance on August 1 at NOCCA – see below.
•Students accepted into the July Daytime Intensive MUST register for and participate in at least one or more full session(s) during June to be eligible to register for and participate in the July Daytime Intensive.
•Tuesday, July 11 from 9:00-9:30am, MANDATORY Parent/Guardian and Student Orientation Meeting in Studio 300
•Week 1: Wednesday, July 12 – Friday, July 14, 9:00am-4:00pm
•Week 2: Monday, July 17 – Friday, July 21, 9:00am-4:00pm
•Week 3: Monday, July 24 – Friday, July 28: 9:00am-4:00pm
•Week 4: Monday, July 31, 9:00am-4:00pm; Tuesday, August 1, 9:00am arrival at NOCCA (2800 Chartres St.) for final rehearsals; Culminating performance on August 1 at 7:00pm at NOCCA’s Freda Lupin Memorial Hall


JULY EVENING INTENSIVE: Ages 8-18, by audition or invitation only
July 10 – 27 Featuring local faculty and master classes by visiting artists from Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE and Complexions Contemporary Ballet
LOCATION: Eleanora P. McWilliams Hall, 3rd Floor Dance Studios, Tulane University (7016 Zimpel St.)
•Monday – Thursday, 5:45-7:15pm (Group 1) or 7:15-8:45pm (Group 2) depending on placement
•Combined Studio Showcase Thursday, July 27 at 6:30pm
