The Open Track After-School Program provides nationally award-winning, tuition-free technique classes in ballet, tap, modern, and hip hop, as well as other styles of dance, for youth between the ages of 6-18 (note: classes offered varies by location). No audition is required to participate in classes within the Open Track Program. Participants benefit from various performance opportunities throughout the year, including fully produced and costumed performances of The Nutcracker Suite at Tulane University’s Dixon Hall on December 15, winter concerts at each community site and spring productions. Students are also offered $5 tickets to attend select performances during NOBA’s Main Stage Season. Following the initial registration dates listed below, student enrollment will be accepted on an ongoing, first come, first served basis through September 30 or until classes are filled. Spring 2014 semester classes begin the week of January 6. Classes are approximately one hour in length, and students are placed in the appropriate class based on both age and experience level.

For more information regarding educational programming and 2013-2014 academic year registrations and classes, please contact Susan Bensinger at sbensinger@nobadance.com or call NOBA’s Education Department at 504.522.0996 ext. 207.
Pre-Professional Program sessions (exact schedule depends on placement upon acceptance) take place throughout the week in the state-of the art, 3000 square foot dance studio at the newly renovated NORDC Lyons Center, made possible by Chevron for the NORDC/NOBA Center For Dance, as well as on Friday evenings and Saturdays at Tulane University, and feature intensive instruction for talented students in ballet, pointe, modern, repertoire, and workshops in other forms, led by local faculty and visiting master artists. In addition, students participate in master classes taught by internationally renowned NOBA Main Stage artists, perform, and are given unique opportunities to receive scholarships to attend prestigious summer dance programs around the country. Sessions begin September 10, 2013, and continue through the end of May, 2014.
