High-Voltage Power! Led by hot choreographer Dwight Rhoden and superhuman dancer Desmond Richardson, the sleek, powerhouse Complexions returns with a sensational evening that showcases the lightning speed and daredevil physicality of this exquisite ensemble. The electrifying program includes, Mercy, with music of traditional spirituals and hymns, and the company’s signature, full-throttle finale Rise, set to anthems by the Irish rock band U2.
Superstars Making History! At the centerpiece of the evening is an extraordinary world premiere event. Richardson will be retiring from Complexions as a dancer this season and as a special tribute, NOBA has commissioned a duet created by Rhoden for Richardson and New York City Principal Wendy Whelan, set to a cool jazz score by New Orleans native and Grammy Award-winning Nicholas Payton. The Nicholas Payton Quartet joins these elite American superstars as they make history dancing together for the first time. Don’t miss these four artists – icons of their art forms – as they come together to create a single, unforgettable moment in time!
